Some of our lab members are also involved in Outreach programs on campus, in the community, and even in the state. Here are some examples of what we do:
Developed an exhibit at WonderLab showing patterns are present in viruses
Participate in the Jim Holland Summer programs: SEP, SSRP, and RISE introducing students to virology
Participate in GEMS, an initiative through MCCSC school system that works with 5th and 6th grade Girls and activities in Engineering, Math, and Science
Partner with Biology Outreach to visit local elementary schools. Most recently (and pre-COVID) we did an activity for all 1st-6th graders at Unionville Elementary on fact versus opinion
